Rich Barham
Master Sergeant Air Force Reserves and Therapist for Military Personnel and their Families; Senior Curriculum Designer and Facilitator
Serving more than 18 years in the military, Rich recently served a five-week tour of duty in Afghanistan managing counselors on the front line where he received the Armed Forces Reserve Medal as Outstanding Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in the Mental Health Field for the US Air Force Reserve. Rich served in Vietnam and was part of Operation Baby Lift for the US Air Force. He is a trained expert in PTSD with a broad based background in bio-energetic work. He is a trainer in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and alcohol abuse counseling as well as a former trainer and participant in the Bamboo Bridge, a program specifically designed for Vietnam Vets. Rich holds a BS, MS and is currently pursuing his Doctorate at Richardson University. Rich has been awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Reserve Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit, National Defense Ribbon with Stars, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with three oak leaf clusters and Global War on Terrorism Ribbon.

Turpin Mott
United States Marine Corps Veteran; Curriculum Designer and Facilitator
Turpin served in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm and received the Schmidt Award, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Ribbon, National Defense Medal, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Defense Medals. He is a certified Life and Business Coach by the Academy for Coach Training. He’s an independent contractor and holds the position of market team leader and core management team leader for a telecommunications firm. He attended Louisiana State University.

Martin Richardson
Curriculum Designer and Facilitator
Martin is a registered counselor, certified hypnotherapist and an international facilitator. He is an expert in emotional literacy and is one of an elite group of approved facilitators for Folsom prison; understanding the effects of violent behavior and trauma. Martin has worked throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand and is experienced in a variety of modalities including Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Voice Dialogue, Group Dyad, Psychodrama and Race/Gender issues. Martin currently facilitates a variety of empowerment programs for men and women including leadership development with defense organizations. He completed studies at the Alchemy Institute of Santa Rosa, CA and Langside College in Scotland.

Nancy McGrory
Program Director and Course Coordinator
Nancy has more than 25 years in communication program design and implementation covering a broad range of issues and audiences including Department of Defense programs, public policy initiatives and crisis management. Nancy was a key team member in fundraising efforts and an awareness campaign for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Philadelphia. She has more than 10 years of coaching and personal empowerment training in paradigm shift and breakthrough thinking technology with Landmark Education. Her non-profit experience includes family and health related issues. She received her BA in Communications from Shippensburg University and continued graduate studies at Drexel University.

The Freedoms Foundation of Valley Forge, headquartered in Pennsylvania, is an educational, non-profit organization whose mission is to teach, support and foster the principles and obligations of freedom.
The Freedoms Foundation hosts student and teacher programs to a variety of Veterans’ organizations and issues. The Freedoms Foundation, founded in 1949, celebrates the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights and their relevance in our daily lives. The Freedoms Foundation sits on 85 acres and has 31 chapters nationwide.
The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge has a strong tradition of partnership with Veterans organizations. These include:
- The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge is home to The Congressional Medal of Honor Grove, a living tribute to the recipients of our nations highest Award for Valor.
- The Freedoms Foundation is a strong partner with AMVETS and their Americanism Program including their outreach to the youth of America.
- Many Veterans’ organizations have selected the Foundation’s Spirit of America as their outreach to the youth of America including Military Order of World Wars (MOWW), National Sojourners and the American Legion Auxiliary Foundation partners with Veteran’s organizations through outreach programs to teachers including the American Legion, Scottish Rite and MOWW.
Veteran’s group regularly host luncheons, dinners and memorial services on the campus. The Foundation’s military tradition dates back to 1777 when the Foundation was part of Washington’s encampment.
In March 2006, the Freedoms Foundation hosted the Veterans Administration National Administrators Regional Conference.
